JIS worked with the Criminal Court Clerk's office to assist with the implementation of online payments for tickets issued by the Department of Safety, Department of Conservation and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. This service will allow individuals to pay their offenses online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This service will be available from the clerk's existing web site and will allow an individual to search their respective ticket onlin. The search results will return the violation and the amount to be paid. When the individual is ready, they will be automatically transferred to a third party site where they may pay by credit card or electronic check.

QC Legacy
This project provided the functionality needed to access information contained in the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department’s mainframe computer and predated CJIS. Enhancements were made to access the information within CJIS and via a web interface. This legacy data comprised court records from the years 1973 through 1999. The data was sometimes referred to as “QC data” because the keyboard commands used to retrieve the data began with the characters “QC”. Upon implementation of this project, legacy case information can now be retrieved easily within CJIS and presented to the user in the same fashion as current cases.
Active Directory Migration
After months of planning and testing, JIS is entering the home stretch on its migration to Microsoft Active Directory. This migration will replace Novell’s “Netware Directory Services” with a similar product from Microsoft. The Active Directory is also used to create and manage groups of users who need similar rights to files, applications, or printers. The Directory can also be used to organize and manage workstations, preventing changes to important settings that might adversely impact the workstation’s performance.
